Hands-On with Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: Retro Feels, Modern Brains

Motorola is back, and they mean business. The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion just landed in Indonesia, and it’s got that retro flair that’ll tug on your early-2000s nostalgia—while packing some serious modern muscle under the hood. We got some hands-on time with the device, and here’s our unfiltered take.

Old-School Looks, Modern Touch

At first glance, the Edge 60 Fusion doesn’t scream flagship. But hold it once, and you’ll get it. The vegan leather back (available in Forest Blue and Hot Pink!) gives it a grippy, soft-touch texture that feels premium but playful. The design pays homage to Motorola’s older models without looking dated—just enough curves to feel comfy, just enough edge to stay cool.

It’s light, too—only 174.9g—making it perfect for one-handed use. A welcome change from today’s chunky beasts.

Smooth and Stunning Display

You’re looking at a 6.7-inch pOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Scrolling, swiping, watching TikToks or Netflix—it’s all fluid and vibrant. With HDR10+ support and a brightness output of 1,600 nits, using the screen outside is completely trouble-free.

Surprisingly Smart Cameras

On paper, the 50MP main camera (with Sony’s LYT-700C sensor) and 13MP ultrawide/macro sensor sound standard. But the real star here is AI. Motorola’s AI enhancements help with scene detection, dynamic range, and noise reduction.

In our quick shots, colors popped without looking fake. Even edge detection, which is a problem for many mid-range cameras, was handled nicely in the portrait mode. The front camera? 32MP and, even in low light, amazingly sharp.

Battery That Goes the Distance

You get a 5,000mAh battery that easily lasts a full day with moderate to heavy use. But here’s the kicker—Motorola throws in 68W fast charging. From 0 to 50% in around 15 minutes in our tests. Full charge? Just under 45 minutes. No wireless charging, but at this speed, who cares?

Powering the Engine: Dimensity 7300

Running under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300—an upper-midrange chip that punches well above its weight. Paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, we didn’t experience any hiccups during multitasking, gaming, or switching apps.

Even with graphics-heavy games like Genshin Impact, it held up surprisingly well on medium to high settings.

HelloUI and Android 14 Goodness

With Motorola’s new HelloUI skin, the phone comes pre-installed with Android 14. Imagine an Android phone that is simple and nearly stock, but with a few clever additions, such as Moto Secure, gesture navigation, and customization tools.

Three years of security patches and two years of OS updates are guaranteed by Motorola. It’s not Samsung-level commitment, but it’s fair for the price range.

Feature Highlights You Might Miss

  • IP68 rating: Yes, it’s dust and water-resistant.
  • Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos: Loud, clear, and immersive.
  • Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC: You’re covered for connectivity.
  • Under-display fingerprint sensor: Fast and accurate.

Pricing & Availability in Indonesia

The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion is available now in Indonesia with a starting price of Rp5.999.000. It’s positioned to take on popular mid-range options like the Galaxy A55 or Xiaomi 14 C Lite.

But with its nostalgic charm, AI-powered cameras, and ultra-fast charging, it definitely stands out in a crowded space.

Final Thoughts

Motorola is clearly onto something here. Form and function, nostalgia and innovation are all balanced in the Edge 60 Fusion. It doesn’t try to be everything—but what it does, it does well.

If you’re looking for a stylish mid-ranger with solid performance, AI smarts, and fast charging, the Edge 60 Fusion is worth your shortlist.
