Oppo A5x Officially Launches in Indonesia: Rugged Design, Huge Battery, and Affordable Price

Oppo has officially introduced the Oppo A5x in Indonesia, a budget smartphone built for durability and long-lasting performance. With its military-grade construction and massive 6,000mAh battery, the A5x positions itself as the ideal daily companion for users who need reliability, endurance, and value — all under Rp 2.2 million.

Built to Last: Military-Grade Durability

The Oppo A5x features a MIL-STD-810H certified body that’s engineered to survive drops, bumps, and daily wear. The phone is also rated IP65 for water and dust resistance, making it suitable for users with active lifestyles or those frequently outdoors.

To enhance durability, Oppo added extra protection around key components. The SIM tray and USB-C port are sealed with silicone to prevent water damage, while the internal frame is reinforced to absorb shocks from accidental drops.

Large Screen and Smooth Display

The 6.67-inch LCD display on the front greets customers with HD+ resolution (720 × 16004 pixels), a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits. While it doesn’t offer Full HD, the panel is bright and responsive enough for casual viewing and outdoor use.

Performance & Battery

Powering the A5x is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 chipset, paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. The phone runs ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, bringing a fresh UI and AI-powered features like Smart Image Matting and Google Gemini integration.

Battery life is where the A5x shines: the 6,000mAh battery supports 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, delivering 30% charge in just 21 minutes and a full charge in under 90 minutes. According to Oppo, the battery will still have 80% of its capacity after 1,700 rounds of charging, or around five years of regular use.

Camera and Features

On the back, the A5x carries a 32MP main camera supported by a secondary IR sensor for AI features. A 5MP front camera is located in a centered punch-hole cutout for taking selfies. While the camera setup is basic, it includes AI-enhanced shooting modes like Night, Portrait, and Pro.

Other notable features include:

  • Side-mounted fingerprint scanner
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • IR Blaster for remote control
  • Ultra Volume Mode for speaker boosts up to 300%
  • Dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0

However, the device does not support NFC and is limited to 4G connectivity only.
